Problem

The custom LanguageSelector component built by WMDE to allow switching the UI language of Mismatch Finder and Query Builder currently follows the visual specifications documented in the Wikimedia Design Style Guide. This resource will soon be deprecated in favor of Codex's Style Guide, which will contain an adjusted version of the LanguageSelector's specifications. This design update (currently work in progress) will render our version of the component obsolete.

Solution

We'll have to adjust the visual properties of the LanguageSelector (using Codex tokens) to make the component meet the new specifications documented in the Components section of Codex's Style guide.

We'll have to replace the (majority) discrete values used to style the LanguageSelector in Mismatch Finder and Query Builder by Codex tokens, following the new specifications.

Acceptance criteria

• WMDE's custom LanguageSelector displays visual style that is fully aligned with the new Codex design guidelines
