Event Timeline
I took another look at all of our typography in light of our learnings about ASD and other community feedback in T357770 and the vector beta project page. Here are the new proposed line-heights.
Vector22
Param | Small | Standard | Large |
Font-size(px) | 14 | 16 | 20 |
Line-height(em) | 1.57 | 1.6 | 1.5 |
Minerva
Param | Standard | Medium | Large |
Font-size(px) | 16 | 18 | 20 |
Line-height(em) | 1.65 | 1.6 | 1.5 |
Rationale
Upon reflection and a lot of community feedback, I realize that I over-applied the "maintain or increase density as a scanning affordance" insight in the designs to date. The large size on Vector was especially tight. With the exception of "small" on vector, which is a legacy style, the line heights get progressively denser as fonts get bigger, but in a much less extreme way than I had initially specified. Let me know if there are any questions!
@ovasileva @Jdlrobson I'll leave creating the implementation tickets up to you.
@ovasileva so reading through this the following tasks would be needed:
- Change line height for Medium font size on Minerva
The current line height is 1.5, so we want to change it to 1.6
(Note: STANDARD and LARGE already match those specs)
- Increase line height for Vector in standard and large mode
(From 1.5 to 1.6 for standard, 1.3 to 1.5 in Large)
