Not a duplicate; bug 27157 is about making a stand-alone interactive visual tool to create and edit EasyTimelines, whereas this is specifically about doing it inside VisualEditor (and so not for wikitext users).

I'd advise against work on this task; see T137291: Replace all uses of EasyTimeline and decommission it from Wikimedia's servers for the likely disposition of the extension.

Same as T29157: Provide a stand-alone interactive visual tool to create and edit EasyTimelines (not in the VisualEditor), EasyTimeline is legacy and will eventually be replaced in favor of the Graph extension (T137291). As such it does not make sense to invest in a VisualEditor plugin that will eventually be made obsolete when timelines are migrated to Graph.
