[Name] mentioned you on [Name] talk page in "[section title]".
It ought to have read
[Name] mentioned you on [his/her/their] user talk page, in "[section title]".

Yes, the user was specifically requesting changing the case of:
User A mentioning user B on User A's talk page.
into:
User A mentioning user B on [his/her/their] talk page.
If i understood him properly.
so it would require splitting the message.
Subscribing as I made the original suggestion. Happy to make clarifications if necessary.
This might conflict with bug 54433 which is asking for the "talk page" to be removed from all mention notifications, as is my understanding.
That request going through would change:
User:A mentioned User:B on User:A's talk page.
to:
User:A mentioned User:B on User_talk:A.
This would eliminate the need for the gender selection all together.
