Maybe add a static section to file pages with title "Use this file" (like categories) and display the possibilities to insert this file into another wikipage?

I'm pretty sure we don't expose that feature anywhere on the mobile site -- are you looking at the desktop site on a mobile device? If so, that's outside the scope of the MobileFrontend team :)

currently using the desktop site is the only way to expose this. We could rewrite to be "It is not possible to copy and paste image code from commons to wikipedia via mobileFrontend"

So, it actually is possible to copy and paste image code -- you just have to navigate to a file page and copy the file title and know to enclose it in double-brackets :)

As for making the "use this file workflow" mobile-friendly, this would involve rewriting UploadWizard to make it work for mobile. This would need to be coordinated between the Multimedia and Mobile Web team, but it's not clear at this point when, how, or if this will be done. This bug could be reopened when that conversation gets kicked off (possibly later this fiscal year or next year).
