This might be a bug in VE's copy-paste code: when you copy from a post to the editor, it works in Chrome but fails in Firefox. Copying mentions between editors works in both.

Copying from read-mode isn't supposed to work at the moment but does accidentally in Chrome as we are using Parsoid HTML.
In Firefox we work around this by running some code during the copy event to rename attributes, but this doesn't happen outside of VE.
When we switch to Parsoid output for all read HTML we should revisit this issue.
