HTML self closed tag misparsed on markup font design
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Hi. The "Deprecated-self-close-category" message, gets false positives on wiki markup. For example,

{{cite web|title=google|work='''goo''' gle|url=http://google.com}}

shows correct output, but included in the tracking category, because of

'''''

misparsing (3 from the parameter and 2 more added by cs1 module to make this parameter italic).
Thank you.

@Amire80, one more win to Wednesday deployment.

Nothing is tracked in this task here hence removing Tracking-Neverending tag here.

This seems to be related to T134423?

Thanks for explanation - the tag looks like tracking categories.
About your question - I have no idea.

Which wiki is this on? This seems like an issue with the cite web template...

This is a problem with the citation templates, not the parser, but the cleanest fix would be both a fix in the template and in MediaWiki. I left a comment at section Italic lint error of Help talk:CS1. cc @ssastry

Sorry, totally forgot about this task. It was fixed couple of months ago. The problem wasn't like my description, but <span /> in the module code.
