Use the original form of the page title in a link to a particular site
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

These two pages en:L'avoir échappé belle and fr:L’avoir échappé belle should match together, even if the apostrophe is different.
Currently, the link exists on the left column, but links to an unexisting page.

Change 320976 had a related patch set uploaded (by WMDE-leszek):
Use original titles of the page in links for to the particular site

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/320976

WMDE-leszek renamed this task from Link pages with different apostrophes to Use the original form of the page title in a link to a particular site.Nov 11 2016, 1:08 PM

In other words: link to site X should use the page title used on site X, not the "normalized" title.

It looks like we have both worked on the same thing here.
When I first briefly looked at this task I thought it was about adding more apostrophes to the normalization step.
Instead it is actually exactly what is discussed in T150437!

Oh, I forgot about that other ticket. I'll change the ticket number in the patch once the db schema is update etc.
