I am having trouble with Hype and the mouse in and out events. They seem to not be triggering in order and causing behavior. Can't seem to make it work with timeline, will attempt with scenes again.

In similar situations it has been useful to use the "Go to time in timeline" action to cancel conflicting timelines. You start the current one and stop the other in case they were still playing.

Thanks Pau! I am pretty sure I tried that. Will attempt again on an empty project to make sure that something else that I am doing does not affect the hover part.

Since the 2016/2017 FileAnnotations prototype work is now quite outdated and both Wikidata and Commons have new features and design plans (like moving new features to Vue.js on Commons), and the extension is not actively under development, the best thing to do is close these tasks and create new ones when/if there's a team available to pick up development on this feature.
