Would "vps-mail" also work? My brain first split the two words into "VP smail".

project-smtp? That sort of matches up with the existing project-proxy project. Maybe @herron has a good idea for the project name.

Sure, project-smtp or project-mail sound good to me :)

Sweet! Is there a vps project getting started type doc I could follow to get up and running?

@herron https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Portal:Cloud_VPS is probably the best place to start. https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Instances talks specifically about creating new VMs. Feel free to shout out questions in the #wikimedia-cloud irc channel when you get stuck too.

Thanks! I'm logged into horizon and see the option to launch instance. Should I be able to manage volumes for project-smtp? I think it would be good to persist the mail queue on a volume but persisting the whole system might be simpler.

We do not have support for external volumes in Cloud VPS today. The closest thing we have is per-project NFS, but that is probably not a great solution for mail spools.
