Curation toolbar loads inconsistently in Safari
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

@Atsme is having trouble getting the curation toolbar to load consistently when using Safari, though it works in Chrome and Firefox. Below is the text from the detailed explanation of the issue on this wiki page.

Yes, (my tools are in the top menu tool bar)-(Safari browser). I've tried purging, reloading, going back to NPR and clicking on Review again and again and again....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Hard to move quickly when having to deal with that issue.

FireFox & Chrome work fine, but Safari v12.0.1 (14606.2.104.1.1) is qwirky. Incognito, the tools show up but it's still flakey. See following:
In Safari regular, toolbar shows up for Software diversity. It does not show up for M F Pithawalla or European Union Observatory for Nanomaterials.
In Safari incog, toolbar shows up for Software diversity and M F Pithawalla, but not for European Union Observatory for Nanomaterials. At times when the toolbar does show up, I may or may not lose it if I go to the TP and back. It's very erratic.

Adding - the console keeps showing Javascript errors - not sure if the following will help but here it is:

I quit using Safari a while back, so I can’t help you there. If you’d like, I can give it a try again and see what happens. Let me know.

That would be great :)

Same issue. I have to add the side margin tools each time I review an article from the queue.

Hi, Sam - re: Xtools

On Github it states: Up until version 3.12.0, XTools could theoretically be used on any MediaWiki installation. However official support was dropped due to lack of usage by third parties and associated maintenance burden.

We need Xtools on Justapedia - we are currently using the most recent version. Can we import v3.12.0 of Xtools and it work on our independent wiki? We just need the stats, and right now our stats point back to en.Wikipedia.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't mind, try visiting this unreviewed page that has a special ?safemode=1 in the link, which will temporarily turn off your user scripts. Do you still have Page Curation toolbar problems when visiting that link? This will investigate if user scripts or gadgets are causing the problem.

Attached are 2 screen shots. One with the tools visible where I began at the NPR queue, and the other showing no tools when I added the url directly in the browser.
