We need a separate wiki for Wikimedia Community User Group Georgia, where administrative affairs of Wikimedia UG Georgia will be discussed and conducted, and all official documents of the organization will be published. Discussion is here.

@Mehman97 Can you please provide me with translations for the NS_PROJECT and NS_PROJECT_TALK namespaces? You currently only mentioned NS_PROJECT_TALK. Thanks!

$wgSiteName was set to ვიკიმედიის მომხმარებელთა საქართველოს ჯგუფი because Wikimedia XXX is usually reserved for recognized Chapters only, not user groups.

Hi @MarcoAurelio; I added the necessary field with the information in the description.

As for the second question, it’s better to let it be so for now (ვიკიმედიის მომხმარებელთა საქართველოს ჯგუფი), but I have a question, how do we become a chapter, we are going to use this site further, can we later change it to Wikimedia Georgia?

The standard for country-based community user groups (and chapters) is to use countrycode.wikimedia.org.

ka is the language code for Georgian, while ge is the country code for Georgia. So this domain should be at ge.wikimedia.org.

The site name and the logo can be changed at any time later, so if you become a recognized chapter in the future, we can easily change those later.

Thanks @jhsoby - actually I was thinking what the domain should be and was about to go with ge.wikimedia; but given that the ticket mentioned ka.wikimedia I wrongly went with that. Thanks for fixing.

Hi All! I specially wrote a language code ka for the site name, we decided that it would be more compact, but if this is not accepted and against the rules of the WMF, then this is not a problem for us. Let it be ge.

@Urbanecm With the above patch merged (it needs one hour aprox. to be fully merged though) I think we're good to go and move with the actual wiki creation. The mediawiki-config patch do not have wikiversions.json or groups as those causes frequent merge conflicts. We should add them in a different patch, or amend the existing one. Thanks.
