Dot instead of comma in Thank you email confirmation French-France, Italian-Italy and Spanish-Spain
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hello,

Following a ticket (#1004626) in Zendesk where a French speaking donor from France was confused by number format (in France, also Italy, Spain, commas are used where decimal points are in English),

The Thank you email in test mode (https://civicrm.wikimedia.org/admin/config/thank_you/test) shows the numbers for Italian, Spanish and Italian this way: 10,00 €

In the Thank You email that those donors receive, the number appears this way: € 10.00.

Donor Relations tend to receive regularly complaints from those three countries in those three languages, like the mentioned ticket.

Can you please check and update the number format so that the English dot is replaced by a comma instead, and the currency symbol appears on the right side of the number instead of the left side?

Thank you in advance

@DStrine bump on this please-- Want to make sure it doesn't get lost in the phab abyss :)

This did not have our tag on it so we would never have seen it. I'll talk to the team about it today.

Hello everyone, following the training about Civi templates tool, one comment, this is not appearing in preview mode of the templates, see screenshot here:

However, checking with the testmeister and manually with a record in Civi with French/Italian/Spanish-Spain, I can confirm that the amount of a donation appear now with the number format "1.234,56 €" in the Thank You emails.

Thank you!

Have made a test donation and reviewed the thank you mail sent through our new template - as far as I can see this issue has been resolved:
