Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
Beta is meant to be used temporary to roll out new features. I've seen no activity in the reference tooltips repo so it seems to me like the code relating to the beta feature should be removed and the feature either enabled or disabled on wikis.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

Maintaining beta feature code adds an unnecessary maintenance burden. There are lots of FIXMEs/TODOs that could be tackled with this work done.
