I am gonna go ahead and close this one since it looks like AQS is not used anymore for production code.
The only reference I see is in scripts/top-pages-list.js but it shouldn't be a blocker for restbase sunset.
Other than that, for parsoid we provide a way to dynamically switch between MW REST API and Parsoid on RESTBase.
