Description

The analytics/wmde/toolkit-analyzer Gerrit repository is configured in CI with Java 8. As part of T350587 I wanted to check whether it can be tested with Java 11 instead.

The toolkit-analyzer has been written by @Addshore and has some description at https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/WMDE/Analytics

The systemd job has been removed in April 2021 via T278665 . It thus looks like we can archive the git repository and remove toolkit-analyzer from the Puppet repository (see modules/statistics/manifests/wmde/graphite.pp).

I have subscribed some people who might know whether tookit-analyzer is still of any need.

Hello @AndrewTavis_WMDE , I am searching whether the analytics/wmde/toolkit-analyzer Gerrit repository is still of any use and if not, whether we can archive the Git repository and unconfigure it from CI.

There was a cron job referring to it which got disabled in April 2021 via T278665 so tentatively the toolkit-analyzer is not used anymore and we could archive the git project. But maybe the code is used somewhere else (I have been mentioned Spark jobs).

Hi @hashar, we also just rediscovered this and are currently looking into it (T348609).

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, @hashar! I would say that once the stat1007 ownership/maintenance is resolved, we will also be able to resolve T218711 and T278665.
