As part of MinT for Wikipedia Readers MVP (T359072), the Confirm step (T359512) presents the article the user selected before the user access the translation.
The article is presented in a card component which includes an except from the contents of the article. In the initial implementation there are some aspects to consider:
- The description displays the links form the article contents. Those are interactive elements that can make the user navigate away when trying to tap on the overall card.
- The description uses regular text color (color-base) which makes it too prominent.
- The Supporting text uses an icon displayed in a darker color (color-base) than the text color (color-subtle)
- The mouse cursor is not communicating interactivity for the whole card. Currently the text selection cursor is used over text, and the default arrow is used over the card in general.
This ticket proposes to:
- Remove the links from the description, presenting the contents as just text. In this way, the whole card becomes the only interactive element for users to tap and access the machine translation.
- Adjust the text color of the description to use color-subtle instead.
Adjust the color of the icon for the supporting text to use color-subtle instead.Changes to the supporting text are captured in T366896.- Adjust the cursor to use the "pointer" ("hand") over the whole card to communicate interactivity more clearly.
