[mediawiki/extensions/UploadWizard@master] Not own work: remove last question
@Sneha @AUgolnikova-WMF ... are you sure we still want to remove this? We're not actually doing machine detection of anything except logos (and even then we're only recording it, not taking action on it)
Change #1094419 merged by jenkins-bot:
[mediawiki/extensions/UploadWizard@master] Not own work: remove last question
Checked in commons beta - the copyright confirmation checkbox (the not-own work flow) is removed:
commons wmf.4 | commons beta | commons wmf.6 |

@Cparle who is "we"? Any removal of safeguards should be brought before the community and consensus established. And it's highly concerning that this appears to have been done before the machine alternative has been rolled out. You need to communicate better (and this applies to you too, @Sannita — this is not a "minor change" that needs only an announcement rather than collaboration).
I take the critic, but the checkbox was inserted last year and it didn't disallow people to upload "bad" media to Commons. Also we are still trying to balance ease-of-use against moderator burden: we've done user testing on our solutions (most people in the test when they saw the checkbox, just blindly checked it off) and we are monitoring the proportion of uploads that get deleted after their insertion. Also, again, our new and improved questions should provide a better guardrail and hence we don’t need this extra checkbox anymore, which is good for experienced users (one less click).
