In order to evaluate the need for supporting Kartotherian, or the possibility of deprecating it, we should have an updated picture of its importance on Wikimedia wikis.
Some questions to answer:
- How many pages include a Kartotherian map or mapframe?
- How many maps include a GeoJSON overlay?
- How often are various custom features used (wikidata IDs, wikitext, geoshapes, etc.)?
- How often are alternative map-producing or map-linking techniques used on wikis?
- How many maps have been added over the past year?
