Extension:Translate should be optimised for mobile devices
Closed, DuplicatePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):
Using the Extension:Translate on a mobile device can be frustrating. While it seems to be partially responsive, there are overlapping fields and buttons which make it very hard to type and to also select suggested translations. See the example below for how it looks for me every time I want to translate something on mobile.

As far as I can see, reducing the font size of the text in the editing field would already improve the situation. Ultimately, there should be no overlap at all and not much horizontal scrolling. In order to achieve that, I suggest the right column with the suggestions/comments should be placed below the editing field.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):
Translating shouldn’t be harder than making edits through the normal editor on mobile, otherwise we lose out on helpful translations in potentially underserved languages.

Good question. I was not aware of it, it seems to focus on the special page Special:Translate, but the problem (and its solution) is likely the same.

Your screenshot is also of Special:Translate, isn’t it?

Ah, now I see it! I was not aware that every time I click on Translate this page, I reach that special page, just with different parameters filled. Well, then it can indeed be marked as a duplicate (but hopefully not remain like this for another 8 years)!
