In bug #37929 comment #1, Chad indicates he would like to change the Planet software, to have an administrative interface:

(...) Really we should find some [most functional] planet software that lets us add new blogs without requiring config changes.

In bug #37929 comment #3, I indicated we could keep the software and add a control panel or a script to regenerate the config:

It only requires to add a component to edit the config file.

• whether an administrative panel for Planet
• whether a script regenerating the config file from a MediaWiki page.

The present bug has two goals:
(i) discuss the merits of new software/add config panel/add config script
(ii) implement the chosen solution
