The Language Engineering team follows a 2-step process for enabling Content Translation:
The current request is only for Step 1 i.e. enable Italian on the beta-labs server for testing.

Thanks for filing this @Elitre. Would you by any chance have any more information about possible source languages that may have been brought up during the conversation?
We didn't discuss any source language. German, English, French and Spanish seem popular at it.wp, although you may find more listed in the second column at https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Richieste_di_traduzione .

Update: Until any further requests are received from the Italian Wikipedia community, Content Translation support for Italian will remain on the beta server only. Discussions are currently ongoing on the village pump.
Is this about Italian or the Italian Wikipedia? May it make sense to have separate tasks for them?
Hello @Ricordisamoa , we generally follow an incremental workflow for each language (that is eventually expected to end on the respective Wikipedia). At the moment we are at the testing stage and are quite ok if its remains here until we have more information from the discussions. Did you mean something other than this? Thanks.
