Looks like we may be able to get this through tomorrow i.e. 25 June. In that case we want to make sure that the community is aware of this upcoming change and we would like to post a pre-activation announcement asap (preferably before afternoon today). It would be really great if someone could help us translate the following message. @Ricordisamoa, can you or someone else help us please? If there are any last minute changes in plans we can make the modifications in the message as required. We may also need help with the post-activation announcement translation. Thanks.

[Draft for translation]

"Content Translation", the new article creation tool, will be available as Beta feature from June 25

Hello, we are planning to enable [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Content_translation Content Translation] as an opt-in beta feature for logged-in users of the Italian Wikipedia this week, tentatively on 25th June 2015. As you may know, Content Translation is a tool that can be used to create a new Wikipedia article from an existing article on the same topic in another Wikipedia. This is a tool currently in development and we are gathering feedback from users by making it available as a beta-feature on Wikipedias of multiple languages. At present, it is available on 214 Wikipedias and more than 6500 new articles have been created using Content Translation. As mentioned earlier, it is an opt-in beta feature only available to logged in users. It is important for us to get feedback about your experience using the tool during the beta period to identify any concerns and specific requirements for the Italian Wikipedia as early as possible. You can reach us through the [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Content_translation Content Translation talk page] or on the [[phab:T103550|Phabricator ticket]]. For more information, you can read the Project page and [https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Content_translation/Documentation/User_guide User Guide]. You can also view a [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ee/Content_Translation_Screencast_%28English%29.webm short screencast] on how to use Content Translation. Thank you.

Translation draft at P831

@Ricordisamoa Thank you so much! We will post it at the VP within the next 1 hour.

There's a user guide at https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utente:Alexmar983/sandbox/CT which should be quite ready and just needs to be moved to a more meaningful name.

Ahh Thanks. I will add that link.

I know, but there was nothing centralized when it was started, and I don't feel like wasting volunteers' effort. (of course, we can always link to the mediawiki page, which will probably be the most up to date, in time) :)

I posted the message here. Please let me know if I missed any steps. Thanks.

@Nemo_bis: there's a query with the names of the people who use the "Tradotto da" template the most - those should be active translators (or, worst case scenario, patrollers). Those could be invited to test CX, to get feedback from a relevant audience (of course the mass message should apologize in case the contacted person is just a patroller, and a note could also be posted in advance at Discussioni_progetto:Patrolling about that). What do you think?

The draft for the post-activation announcement is at P836 and it would be really great if this can be translated as well. Thank you!
