Design interface for signaling and filtering ORES Good-Faith and Damaging scores as well as New Users
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Based on the research conducted in T143451 and the visual language established in T143455, create interfaces on the Recent Changes page and the planned New User Support special page that enable users to clearly identify and filter for ORES Good-Faith and Damaging scores, as well as the newly created New User flag.

The interfaces on the Recent Changes page and new special page should share a consistent visual system and language, but need not be identical.

It's similarly expected that the special page may offer filtering and other capabilities not included on Recent Changes—and vice versa, since Recent Changes has a broader purpose than the special page. On current ORES-enabled wikis, the Recent Changes page offers users only the option to "hide probably good edits." But the full range of capabilities would be:

  • show only probable bad edits
  • show only probable good edits
  • show only probable good-faith edits
  • show only probable bad-faith edits
  • show only new users
  • hide new users

It should be understood that users will want to combine these properties by filtering, for example, to identify edits by new users that are in Good Faith but Damaging. On the special page, it may also be desirable to not only filter results but to sort them to prioritize a selected property (e.g., to surface the most damaging edits).
