Collect interface translations for all relevant languages
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

We should organise the translating of the Library Card Platform into as many languages as possible, focusing for now on the ones we have active branches or partner resources in:

  • French
  • German
  • Farsi
  • Arabic
  • Finnish

I would consider these necessary for rolling out the platform for existing partners, but more would be desirable.

Samwalton9-WMF updated the task description. (Show Details)

Though this should probably be one of the last things we do for v1.5 since the interface is liable to change between now and then.

This should include partner description translations (T151364), including for English, French, and Finnish, for which we already have interface translations.

Perhaps platform translation should be something we track per library branch too.

We should think/plan about translations when we need to reword in the future - we should bunch textual changes into few updates so that translation efforts are concentrated.

Just a reminder to myself that we should thank the translators somewhere on the site.

Translatewiki support is now active and therefore this task doesn't make much sense. We'll put some effort into making sure these major languages are translated, but not specifically.
