Lazy loaded image placeholder flash in dark mode

Description

It appears that lazy loaded image placeholders have a jarring flash in dark mode as part of the fade in. See attachment.

Wikipedia 5.7.5 (1320), iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.2.6

Suggested treatment: fade in from mode's background color or something more muted.
