Style of subtitle on new recent changes page does not match styles of subtitles in other areas
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

A small design nitpick: the style for the subtitle of the new recent changes page is different from the old style and the style in the mainspace. Take a look at the screenshots below to see the problem. The style of the text should probably be aligned between the old and new versions.

Current design for watchlist:

New design for watchlist, with "New filters for edit review" beta feature enabled, where the space between the horizontal line is smaller, the font is larger, and the font colour is different:

Current design for mainspace pages, which inconsistent from both of the above (for teh lulz) :

That impacts the display of watchlist-summary between interfaces using the filters and the ones not using them, as reported on English Wikipedia.

Yes, it is. The area where I took the second screenshot is different now, with more space above it:

I don't think that really resolves this issue though, just mitigates it somewhat.

I'll ask to have is addressed, if possible. That would also please @MusikAnimal who suggested that on en.wp.

Could be browser related? Chrome on Mac (and FF) clearly show more space both in beta and production:

RC on beta, on the other hand, does not have space:

Note: two more issues related to Watchlist UI: T195903: Reduce vertical space between Watchlist filtering tools and first line of results
T197622: [wmf.8] Misplaced 'x' on the first load on Watchlist page

The subtitle was deliberately removed when we redesigned because the information in it is redundant in the new design.

This isn’t about subtitle though, this is about the lack of margin between the heading and text in some browsers.

I agree with you that the information in the old subtitle is redundant, but that wasn't actually what I meant this task to be about. I was talking about the margins left afterwards being inconsistent. Sorry, I could've made that a lot clearer in the task description.

That said, I think the watchlist margins look pretty good on the beta cluster, so maybe this was fixed already.

Deskana claimed this task.

Per T197618#4316846, the margins appear to have been normalised, so this issue appears to be resolved.
