This is a great idea.
Plus this image is old. It was originally created for the French Wikisource main page, but the French Wikisource doesn't use it anymore. It's time for an update.
@Info-farmer & @VIGNERON This is a great idea! Would we need to do community consultation to make this change?
Okay, thanks, @Info-farmer!
@Prtksxna: What do you think of this idea? And, if we go ahead with it, do you have an image file for the Wikisource logo that you recommend we use?
I also think a community consultation is not needed: this is an old historic file that make no sense for most Wikisource.
For the file, it could be :
- the local file, https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikisource-logo-br.svg for Breton (br) Wikisource (which is stored in the local settings if I'm not mistaken, see also this list https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Cbrown1023/Logos#Wikisource ).
- the no text https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikisource-logo.svg for all wikisource
The first would be better but the second is possible if the first is too complicated.
This is a great idea (thanks @Info-farmer!) The files that @VIGNERON is pointing to would be the ones to use :)
Thanks for sharing this @VIGNERON
Looking at that list I see that some of the indic wikis don't have logos. Would you know if these need to be requested by the community or something else?
We could probably query Wikidata for individual Wikisources' logos (and fall back to that of Multilingual Wikisource, as we do for the About page).
Of the 71 Wikisources on Wikidata, a few use the no-text version of the logo, and lots don't have one:
Please do add the Odia (ISO: or) logo to this list: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikisource-logo-or.svg
