Description

In T277955 MediaWiki:Pageimages-blacklist was renamed to MediaWiki:Pageimages-denylist. The change should be deployed the week beginning 17th.

When implementing the change, given the low impact of the change and the fact the solution is relatively straightforward, it was decided that we would not add backwards compatibility. Redirects will not work.

Potential impact: Search results may display with a less favorable image thumbnail.

To prepare for this change wikis should either

copy and paste the contents of MediaWiki:Pageimages-blacklist to MediaWiki:Pageimages-denylist. At the top of MediaWiki:Pageimages-blacklist leave a notice template directing editors to the new page.
Wait for the deploy date (below) after which point they can "move" the existing page to the new location.
Do nothing or delete the existing page if it is no longer being used.

@Jdlrobson Wouldn't it be easier to move it on all wikis, keeping redirects? It looks wrong to require wikis to do maintenance on the right day. I can do it, if you confirm.

Redirects won't apply here (it seemed less effort to manually edit these pages then to wire up the PHP to support them). Copying and pasting is the solution I'd recommend (option 1). That can be done safely beforehand (with a delete/redirect after the date).

Thanks for all the help here with the rename! I've setup redirects for all the pages that still existed and moved the pages that hadn't moved.
