Description

I'm an Oversighter (OS) on fr-wp (check). We used to access suppression logs on [[Special:Log/suppress]] (or [[Spécial:Journal/suppress]] in French); this is the link used both on en-wp and fr-wp pages about OS. On fr-wp, it gives the URL https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Journal/suppress. But this URL doesn't work anymore. When using this link, I get the two following error messages, and no log at all is displayed:

"Des problèmes sont survenus avec certaines de vos valeurs." (htmlform-invalid-input)
"La valeur que vous avez spécifiée n’est pas une option valide." (htmlform-select-badoption)

Note: I accidentally found that when adding ?uselang=qqx at the end of the URL (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Journal/suppress?uselang=qqx) to see mediawiki interface messages titles, the log displayed correctly.

(I obviously can't produce screenshots.)

It doesn't work with safemode either.

It works if you have another interface language. I have German as my interface language in my global settings and can access the log.

Just to note that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/suppress?uselang=fr does work, so the issue seems to be with the content language of the wiki instead of the language that the user has set.

Not for me. I couldn't find a way to filter for oversight logs when the language I'm using is french. The option does not appear in the list when the form is otherwise valid until I use a language other than French.

The different log types should not have the same translation. Probably caused by https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=MediaWiki:Suppressionlog/fr&diff=prev&oldid=9042290 which made them the same.

Have reverted the translation on translatewiki, and manually set https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Suppressionlog to Journal des masquages — https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sp%C3%A9cial:Journal/suppress appears to now work as expected?

It now works for me.

As a follow-up, we could consider raising a warning if this were to happen. Assigning this to @TheresNoTime as they created and applied the fix.
