First add a link to an article on a new page (for example a link to "Bonjour").
You can open it with the link tool button "Open", it will work and open the link "https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/bonjour".
But if you open the link with Ctrl + Left click, it won't work, because it will open the link https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/bonjour.

right clic on the link (before saving) => open in a new window =>
