It looks like you should be able to do this yourself? All members of acl*WMF-FR should be able to add members because they can all edit the group.
I'm looking for these 2 to be able to edit policy - I can add people to the
group to view within policy, but they can't make private tasks.
Ah, I just assumed it would have been granted to the whole group. Ok, please ignore me.
@chasemp: Hi, I think I was already associated with my WMF LDAP. Please let me know if this is wrong.
Historically we haven't used this as authoritative for reasons like if you look here https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Awight and then here https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Wikimedia_Foundation_staff&action=edit&redlink=1 this list is not really meaningful or kept in any kind up to date. @Aklapper could comment on how to handle this, but typically WMF accounts are policed / handed out for the wiki's and LDAP is separate.
@chasemp, Sorry, I'm trying to follow the instructions here, which simply say to do something here. The only choice on that page is to add a Mediawiki account, and I don't have a staff login there, only a volunteer account. Can you link me to instructions explaining how I should proceed? I assume I'm supposed to be looking for a wmfwiki button on that page?
++ cndiv and jamesofur: I have a funky wmfwiki login, "AWight", and I don't see how I can create a SUL "AWight (WMF)" given my current level of fubar.
Hi all. Really not trying to be a jerk here, but please, when there are requests for OIT, send them to techsupport@wikimedia.org.
We have a whole support team now, and I honestly don't have the bandwidth to add Phabricator to my workflow and handle everything from the service myself.
@Chip, hey man, side commentary. I think @awight just didn't know, but maybe you could throw some boiler plate text up on your profile here to that affect at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/Chip/?
Then when I see someone ping you I can be like: go look at his profile it says always go to OIT directly.
I realize the irony of me replying in Phab with this suggestion :)
@chasemp is this project meant to keep track of who has policy? #acl*fr_policy_admins
I'm inching that way, it is at the moment yes. Need to sync up with you about changes related to T90491
Hi @chasemp, I'm ready to try another round of getting myself added as a policy modifier... My Phabricator acct is linked with mediawiki.org "AWight (WMF)" SUL now, hopefully I've done that correctly?
Bumping the priority a bit--Fundraising is going into its high season, and my policy requests are becoming a burden to coworkers. Thanks!
sure, you guys may want to look into spaces and talk to @releng but I can just fix it for you
