Harej, why is this stalled? What do we need to do to get it restarted?

If I could add my tuppence worth of opinion. This is something that should have happened many years ago but for one reason or another it didn’t. The purpose of the proposed wiki would be a private working space for preparation of news articles for English Wikinews. It would be similar in purpose to how Checkuser wiki or stewards wiki allows non-public discussion of potentially sensitive issues to take place.

Ladsgroup, thank you for looking into this. Should we assume that English Wikinews will likely be affected? As I understand it, we have something similar to what Melberg described above. Cheers.

@Urbanecm, yes it is about reattaching those two. The 0429 account was the Meta account of the 0428 global account. It was renamed in error and became separated. I renamed it to try to fix it but made it worse. It can be renamed but the user reported being unable to access Meta when it was the same name. (I only added Hoo because of an email conversation in which they asked me to create the task and allocate it to them).

Don't get me wrong. I'm not asking for renaming to be hidden by default, just on a preference basis. On English Wikinews, for example renaming forms 34 of the last 100 actions (starting with the creation of User:Osakafinancial and ending with Blood Red Sandman deleting a page, excluding bots and Wikidata). I don't necessarily need to know about the renaming actions of highly trusted GR's and stewards, especially because it doesn't affect content. It isn't like Wikidata, which most of us can act on if an item has been wrongly changed. I really can't see any user rename being objectionable if it's been screened at Meta but even if it was, the place to ask for action would be Meta rather than locally.

In Accessing instances with ProxyCommand ssh option (recommended), what exactly is "~/.ssh/config" and the "local machine"?

In the Manage Instances box, the only one available is Bastion. When I try to connect to bastion I still receive the same error message.

Yes I've gone through the steps (although they are confusingly laid out). Specifically I've got shell access, logged in at wikitech and gerrit, and uploaded an ssh key to both. What I don't understand is where exactly to find the project. I'm stuck at the point on https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Getting_Started#Access_Project_Instances. It isn't clear where I have to enter:

When creating the new hosts, make sure that port 80/http is in a security group that's applied to the new hosts. Then you can use the labs web proxy system to provide https access for the outside world.

I suspect it would have been a Sister Projects Committee (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Sister_Projects_Committee) but this is not likely to be ready for a while. Beyond that I couldn't guess who to turn to.
