Phabricator: new users get "Login cookie was set correctly, but your login session is not valid."
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi someusers are reporting when registering for an account using MediaWiki OAuth.

They have said the following.

I just tried to report it on Phabricator. From the home page, I clicked "Report a problem", and it took me to a login screen. I clicked the "Mediawiki" button, and it took me to the MediaWiki's OAuth screen. After I clicked "Allow", it came back to Phabricator, and the message, "Login Failure. Login cookie was set correctly, but your login session is not valid. Try clearing cookies and logging in again."

I reset the sessions of @Damian_Yerrick so hopefully that resolves the issue for this particular user until we can get the update pulled on wednesday.

user @Elee reported having the same problem directly to me on IRC.

I removed @Elee's account at their request and asked them to reregister w/ ldap account so we'll see how that goes

This seems to be affecting users using LDAP credentials as well. Effectively, no one can register and get going in Phab at this time AFAIK.

I hope this is solved now by the hotfix?

Have there been any new reports of this happening? I'm pretty sure it's resolved now, please reopen if there are further issues.
