[Bug] languageCode in Site object returned by SiteLookup in Wikimedia does not refer to the site's language

Description

(original title: [Bug] site_language in sites table does not refer to the site's language)

site_language, as it is now in the sites table, is just the site id (minus the 'wiki' suffix).

e.g. simple is a language according to the sites table.

It would be nice if site_language was actually meaningful.
