Please see this thread at centralnotice-admins-l mailing list. Looking for a banner to translate at Special:MessageGroupStats is a pain, because it shows all banners no matter if they are being used or not. I'm not sure what solution would be best, but maybe hidding from the dropdown banners not assigned to any campaing, or assigned to archived campaings would be a good start IMHO. But those more familiar with the extension may have better ideas. Best regards.

As far as I know, the BannerMessageGroup class only has to override the exists() function (inherited from MessageGroup) and return false where desired, to hide message groups entirely. If something more complex than that is desired from Translate, please specify.

Perhaps a simple checkbox to "archive" the banner or mark it as no longer needing translations is the easiest solution?

If this still not resolved, that replacing raw "listbox" to the combobox (with the editable search string and displaying search suggestions) would be useful.
