Change 308281 had a related patch set uploaded (by MarcoAurelio):
Rename 'technican' and 'technician' to 'editinterface'
Wikis affected will be trwiki and trwikiquote. Maybe we should inform them after merging the change that they should customize the local MediaWiki messages, and that the users were migrated without loosing any right.
Given the recent security issues and the need to compress the list of all privileged groups which @Reedy is doing for having 2FA enabled for them, I suggest to go ahead with this one. They can customize the messages locally if they feel strongly about it as Spanish Wikipedia does with the sysop group.
I've notified the embassy of tr.wikipedia about this. Two weeks seems sensible to proceed if there are no concerns.
You can go ahead and do this, since it does not change anything locally. The majority of our technicians are on breaks anyway. HakanIST and I would take care of the interface messages within minutes.
That's great news @Vito-Genovese. I'll then schedule this change for deployment soon.
