Where would this high resolution image be used at? Is there a specific use case you have in mind?

Any browser running on a high-dpi device, e.g. most new mobile phones.

Text look really blurry and ugly on high-dpi devices now.

@debt @Yurik Is there a bug on desktop? Previewing while creating looks good, then this happens?

@Elitre - I believe what you're seeing is what this task was meant to fix, but not a bug per se.

Vega added the ability to scale up the resolution of PNG output in v3.0.9, so it seems like this task may depend on adding support for Vega 3 (T165118).
