References disappear in translation from Catalan to Spanish
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi all! I write you because I translated this article https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaume_Fabre_i_Fornaguera in Catalan into Spanish with the translation tool and the references disappear when I published it. I had to add every reference manually and I don't know if it is because I did something wrong or it is a bug. It never happened to me when I translate English articles into Spanish. Thank you in advance, @Mooeypoo and rest of the team! ;-)

Event Timeline

Not entirely sure, but this seems a duplicate of T179902 (or the other way around :) ).

Checked this ticket and T179902 - the tickets seem to be duplicate. I cannot reproduce the issue in cx-testing and cx2-testing.

What it's done in cx/cx2-testing:

  • Translate 'Jaume Fabre i Fornaguera` from ca to español (Apertium was used) without changing the references (nor their content, nor their placement).
  • Publish - all references are in place and displayed.

The same was checked with 'Caffeine citrate' (en-pl). The article was mentioned in T179902.

Note: cx2 does not handle properly reference editing - when the references 'Edit' option is clicked, the reference inspector does not present all fields. Editing the same reference in VE will have a different view.

References are not expected to disappear with the new editing surface that Content Translation version 2 provides. If similar issues happen in the new version, feel free to reopen and provide details on how to reproduce the issue.
