I added Nowatchlist and Wlheader-enotif to the cross-wiki search paste (P5999).

Per meeting, we will look at updating just https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Watchlist-details .

I've left a message on English Wikipedia to say we are going to make the change for consistency with other wikis.

I have mixed feelings about this override. The communities will be free to change the message tomorrow or in 3 months, so I don't think we should spend too much time on it. Plus we don't have the resources to do it on all wikis: it is not really fair to only focus on big wikis: the change should be done for everyone if we do it for a few. But we don't have the resources for it.

You make a valid point about the overrides. Ideally, we would take a consistent approach, but reality is not always ideal.

However, the new text is in core, so other communities can still potentially see the (eventually translated) default at Special:AllMessages, and choose to pick it up if they want.

Re enwiki, I of course agree with Kusma that we should preserve the links. I've updated the task accordingly.

I'm reading the replies now and I also agree.

I also think we shouldn't spend too much time trying to convince the communities to make the change while they think their sentence is better.
