@Aklapper That's very useful and Thanks for the prompt input! This is definitely good news for us if this is available and doesn't against our privacy.

Test is available in the branch of Test-Default-Font

App looks fine to me in default device font. One thing which I noticed that Jio devices have bad display quality in comparison to banana phone, text looks sharper in the banana phone than jio. I don't think it has anything to do with the app. I did load a couple of articles in other Indian languages too and everything seems fine to me

After talking with Design, this can wait until the new onboarding and new main screen are done with more tests on different devices.

Note: this would likely be called out as an issue in T240869, when that is completed. We currently anticipate our vendor to begin the security review around March 16th, 2020.
