Background
The Edit Patrol suggested edit gives users a tool bar with 4 quick options while they are reviewing edits: Thank, Watch, Warn, Undo. "Warn" is the entry point for leaving a message on the user's talk page, either by writing a message or using Saved Messages. Saved Messages includes
- "Your messages" could be a combination of both warning messages and more informational and encouraging messages depending on the user.
- "Example messages" includes the 10 example messages (most of which are warning messages), but once these messages are configureable by the community, could include more types of messages.
User stories
As a patroller on French Wikipedia, I want to leave a message of encouragement on a newcomer's talk page after seeing a string of productive edits in Edit Patrol.
As a patroller on Indonesian Wikipedia, I want to leave an explanation and advice for next time after reverting an edit.
As an experienced patroller on English Wikipedia, I want newer patrollers to know that they can leave talk page messages other than Warnings.
Requirements
- User Talk page entry point should have a neutral wording and icon as to not imply that the only type of messages that can be sent are negative ones.
- Update main view, app bar labels, and empty state to match designs
