Popular Pages in Watchlist
Open, Needs TriagePublicFeature

Description

Similar to the list of popular pages in WikiProjects, I would like a ranking of the popularity of pages on my watchlist. This is helpful to me as a contributor to know which of the articles I have worked on and am interested in will have the greatest impact if improved further.

Event Timeline

Maybe the combination of the new filters on watchlists (T164232) and a filter to know which pages are popular (T167655) will solve this request?

@Trizek-WMF I believe the combination of those features would work. I also discovered MassViews which can accept a Page Pile, which you can copy from your raw watchlist. This requires logging into wmflabs, and several steps, so it's not easy for the average user, but it works.

@Daniel-Barrows How do you define "popularity"? What metric(s) would you like to see and how do you imagine it being displayed?

There are other ways to import pages, but not sure if they'll help here. Being able to import your watchlist directly into Massviews would be pretty cool, though! For this I've created T168546.

Another idea... with XTools you can get a list of the pages you've edited the most. We are working on a rewrite of these tools (T153112) and we might be able to include pageviews with that list.

This is a new feature request, which should go through the next Community Wishlist Survey in order to be prioritized. The next survey will start in November 2017.
