As part of the work on MinT for Wiki Readers MVP (T359072) we want to allow communities to access more content that is only available in other languages with the use of machine translation.
After an initial enablement (T363464) we are considering exposing the tool to a broader set of wikis. These include Wikipedias of different characteristics:
- Communities with MT for the first time with good levels of activity
- Medium-size wikis with potential to use MT to expand sections.
- Communities where data shows MinT may be providing good quality translations.
The original list from T363465 has been divided in two groups. The list of selected wikis on this ticket is listed below:
- Communication:
-
Arabic (ar)Don't enable, community objected to having the feature. -
Turkish (tr)Don't enable, there was an objection and a positive feedback. We will wait to see if there are more positive feedback, then we can enable it. - Asturian (ast)
- Lombard (lmo)
- Venetian (vec)
- Crimean Tatar (crh)
- Banjar (bjn)
- Achinese (ace)
- Tswana (tn)
- Kikuyu (ki)
- Swati(ss)
- Fon (fon)
-
- Enable MinT for Wiki Readers MVP in production except ar and tr.
