Cognate currently assumes that namespace IDs are the same on all wikis it connects. This assumption is only true for the pre-defined default namespaces. It does not hold for custom namespaces. However, connecting custom namespaces such as the Citation namespace on Wiktionary would be desirable.
Note: it is expected that a schema change will be needed to make this possible.
