The DS team is manually deduping a lot of donors who add their middle name or middle initial to either the first or last name fields.
DS first suggested adding a middle name field to our forms. We also discussed a change to the automatics scripts we have. I'm looping in fr-online to comment on the former. We could proceed with the latter regardless of what form changes are discussed.

Looks like all the patches linked to this ticket are merged so I will move this into pending deployment
I think there are still a few variants that can be seen in the deduper & fixed to be handled - I'll deploy all these & we can see what jumps out
@DStrine @MBeat33 I'm moving this to Done - the situation is that I fixed a bunch of patterns & significantly more are being automaticially merged (or will merge in the deduper with 'safe merge') but I feel like maybe the window for working on his has closed for now so I think it makes sense to close this & maybe create a new one to keep working on more patterns? Or do I keep this running & keep chipping away during BE but we don't merge until Jan?
