Awesome, @Pcoombe! TY for the speedy implementation, this is so helpful.

Ah right, TY @DStrine
Hey @jgleeson, we're interested in doing a new round of testing on this employer field variant. The types of things we'd like to test include:
Jul 19 2019
Jul 18 2019
Jul 17 2019
How much more work will it take to set up for an a/b test vs. directly implementing, @DStrine?
Pinging this @DStrine, could you give us a time estimate re: implementing this, vs. setting up as a variant we can test?
Hey @DStrine, could you provide some time estimate re: effort to implement, vs. set up as a variant we can test?

Thanks for outlining the needs @Pcoombe, that gives me opportunity to clarify that when I said 'lightweight implementation' I meant lightweight as far as user experience, not work entailed.
Lightweight implementation: if a donor is making multiple gifts (we could define that as a one-time + recurring; or even a new recurring signup?), pluralize keywords on the TY page. I.e.

+1 to what Peter said. Is that a big task, @DStrine?
Jun 13 2019
@alexhollender, great question re: how long and with whom - we'll talk about that. We'll be sure to communicate the plan back to your side to make sure we're all on board, and ready to look at click data for the other menu items (to ensure we're not rocking the boat).

@alexhollender, @Pcoombe and I spoke to Nirzar yesterday and he suggested we step back a bit and describe the problem we're trying to solve. I've done that with a revision to the initial task - please see the new Problem statement and prompt at top and LMK if there's anything I should clarify. TY TY!

Thanks @Ejegg! Still one optimization that should happen: it's currently possible to submit the form without a valid email address, or with no data in the email input field at all. That causes a redirect to an error page that doesn't include any link to return to the repermissioning page.
May 7 2019
No need to apologize, @cmadeo, these are so nice! Seddon is the owner, so his feedback is important - but he's out this week and I thought it polite to respond :)
May 6 2019
Hey @Ejegg, how is the work going on your end?

Thanks @Ejegg, I've asked Trilogy to provide a coded version of the page w/ the Thank You block swapped in for the form element.

Thanks all, just sharing some additional notes gleaned from related emails/IRC:
Hey @alexhollender, has your team had the chance to discuss this item? Anything I can do to be helpful in determining alternate treatments for some next tests?
Apr 16 2019
Thanks for alerting us to this issue, @MBeat33! We talked about it on our banner call today and @Pcoombe pointed out that there are two pieces to this initial comment: our pay-the-fee suggestion, as well as the 'upsell logic' that dictates how much we ask in terms of monthly donation.

Awesome @Ejegg! So motivating to have a live link.

For sure @DStrine ! I think I used confusing language in my initial task; we won't be putting any new fields in the banner, just running a test w/ one banner pointing to the standard payments wiki form vs one pointing to this employer field variant.

Thanks @Ejegg, I'll pass that positive feedback along to Eric and Randy :)

CC'ing @CCogdill_WMF for FYI and I can also reproduce this on donate wiki (where it's also input type = number), FWIW.
Mar 6 2019
@DStrine, @Ejegg : here's a doc containing mockups for the recurring upsell. You'll see that it's styled to look like an overlay on top of the payments wiki page thru which the donor has just submitted their one-time gift.
Feb 22 2019
In our current best in-banner upsell variant, we include the option for the donor to manually input their monthly donation amount on the upsell step. To see the upsell content, select an amount and method in the form and click Continue.
Feb 19 2019
Agree with @CCogdill_WMF that it's not a blocker to have to bounce users back to paypal. Our donors show a lot of resilience re: navigating complicated forms, particularly when it's necessary, and if a donor is making the decision to respond to this upsell, I think they'll be inclined to complete the task.

@Anomie, @aaron, @Imarlier and @AndyRussG - save time for banners has plummeted in the last couple weeks and it's amazing. I'm going from an average of 30 seconds - 1 minute to clone or save changes, down to more like 5 seconds. It noticeably improves my ability to complete tasks, as the old delay fostered ineffective multitasking.

- Right, we can't inject banners to portal via centralnotice; it's not running mediawiki. There isn't an existing a/b testing framework, but @Jdrewniak has set up workarounds in the past, so testing variants might be an option.
- Right, it's responsive! Phuedx will send over the typical breakpoints for MinervaNeue
- Phuedx reviewed your design concepts and said they all seem reasonable and possible. It'd be helpful if (when we're ready) you can implement and Jdrewniak can code review.

Issue w/ wrong ID being hidden after RML submission; fixed with this revision.

Hey @AndyRussG, it's happened with other banners too. I don't have a comprehensive list but I'd say ... half a dozen banner preview links in the last few days.

Reporting that I'm also seeing noticeably slower save times when editing banners in CN, even if I'm just changing Display to or Display on settings. Changes to those toggles have typically saved within a couple seconds, and I'm now seeing upwards of 20 seconds to save.

@MBeat33 and @XenoRyet , new list of banners that included the confusing toggle in the time range of October 11, 2017 to November 29, 2017. These are also in a new tab of the spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A3hJZEBROkbgWm5Xdaah3ehVJSJqJyrYmML9VtazEik/edit#gid=354218842.

Well, @CCogdill_WMF, what do you think? Perhaps I'm underestimating the efficacy of our Oops message.
Thank you @Ejegg, really awesome that you got all the non-recurring. Just about doubled the donation counts in our 10/24 tests. If 1000 affected donations is the threshold that normally triggers a followup from us, 91 recurring signups is well below that. But I'll touch bases with CCogdill.
Oct 25 2017
Yes, thanks @Ejegg for the welcome news!
