This task is about identifying the Wikipedias we will partner with to refine the first iterations of new features we introduce as part of the Edit Check project.
Objectives
This section contains the objective of/reason for working with a subset of wikis as partners in the designing and developing Edit Check.
Partner with a select number of wikis to help ensure:
- Seniors Contributors are:
- Optimistic the check will promote productive behavior
- Confident and comfortable with the functionality they have available to improve Edit Check on-wiki
- Editing Team members + Senior Contributors see clear signs that cause them to be confident newcomers will find UX intuitively helpful
Prospective partners
This section contains the Wikipedias we are inviting to participate as partners for the Edit Check project.

Activities
Below is a non-exhaustive list of things we will collaborate with volunteers at the yet-to-be-defined partner wikis.
- Confirm the edits the Edit Check is getting activated within align with the edits experienced volunteers would expect it to be activated within
- Identify and share cases where Edit Check is getting activated when they don't think it should be
- Share feedback about facets of the in-edit experience that might need to be clarified and/or added
Partner Project Selection Criteria
- Wikis that receive a consistent flow of newcomers and Junior Contributors who are editing from within SSA so that we can increase the likelihood that we are meeting the needs of the people we are centering in this work
- Wikis whose linguistic and technical configurations represent the complexity we can expect in the Movement. This way, we can ensure Edit Check is "robust" enough to work well for all Wikipedias.
