So, it makes sense that the problem does not seem solved on Wikisource.

We have essentially removed a parameter that set the minimum zoom level to the default zoom level and enabled remembering of zoom and pan position between pages.

Agreed that it would be smaller than now, but that does not prevent indexing for majority of the pages. We just need to get a glimpse of what the page is about, whether it's a numbered page, a cover page, a blank page etc. We don't have to read the whole page to understand it. Fitting into screen will give us the whole idea about the page without scrolling down everytime. Also, it would take much lesser time to load than what is happening now. We don't have to zoom and pan all pages, but If we need to do that for some of the pages, you are going to install that feature anyway. So there is no conflict in this request with that.

It's unclear to me how the p131 and district parameters are meant to interact. One of these should be mapped to the adm2 property.

Made a first stab at a mapping and I spotted that the documentation of Template:India_heritage_list_row is fairly outdated. Seems like many of the parameters in actual use are undocumented and that some of the documented ones are no longer supported by the template.

Maybe the issue didn't go actually.

I think this is resolved now.

@Bodhisattwa can you confirm?

@Bodhisattwa @jayantanth If the current PRP behaviour is holding back progress on Bengali Wikisource I suggest one of you pare it down to a neutral "Here's what we want to achieve, and this is what we're having trouble with" description in a new Phab task. If (big if) what I am extracting from the above is correct, I feel confident there are ways this can be achieved without disrupting other projects. For example, a config variable to enable or disable the behaviour per project, so Bengali Wikisource and any others that want to go entirely to Wikidata for their Index: pages can do so as and when they are ready to do so (there are other possible approaches too). As I mentioned up above somewhere, I know there are other Wikisources that are working on this so it is likely having this configurable will be of interest to more projects either short term or at some point in the foreseeable future.

It was clear as the Extract text button has already been implemented in wikis.

I am not sure if the gadgets should be removed. The gadgets provide OCR option from the edit toolbar and editors are accustomed to it while editing. Removing them might hamper the flow.
