They're similar ideas in that they fill the white space with suggested templates (so perhaps worth lumping together), but while community-defined defaults might be fine for new users, the list should be able to change by looking at the previous templates you've invoked. (I.e., if you only add specific templates to articles.) One of the benefits I see VE (eventually?) having for most users is the predictive ability to know the template you want even when you don't remember its name.

On commons it would be helpful to filter sometimes certain users because they moved by hand 1000 files to another category but the watchlist just can show 1000 entries. So to see what other users were doing it'd be great to filter that one user out. Thx.--[[User:Sanandros|Sanandros]] ([[User talk:Sanandros|talk]]) 13:10, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
I think it would be best to have have an mute page and a mute user option for some timeframe which can be set individually. Possibly also mute section option.

This is something that should be done in the citation template maybe? The extension and back-end are for all wikis, so it doesn't make sense to encode wiki-specific guidelines there. Or maybe in a gadget? (Of course the gadget would have to be enabled site-wide to catch the users who don't know about that rule)

None of those options sound particularly bad to me, but this req probably has more to do with watchlist functionality (at least right now) than crosswatch, so noted

Yep and will do
Bold indicates to me that I've seen the change and can dismiss the notification (but when I'm done checking changes, even better would be to clear it from the list)

Oh, nice! Yes, something like a mouseover effect (to show that the data was loaded) in the whitespace to the right would make it more self-evident.
